Adventures

Prices and logistics

Our standard adventures last 4.5 to 5 hours.

Times vary daily according to the tide and prior booking is essential.

Adventures usually start and finish at the excellent Maltsters Arms, Tuckenhay (TQ9 7EQ), lying halfway between Totnes and Dartmouth. Parking is nearby.    Sometimes we start from Stoke Gabriel, which is on the other side of the estuary between Totnes and Paignton.   'By-the-Boat' Adventures can also start from other ports around the estuary, including Totnes which allows coach acces.  There is a towing and transport fee for ports other than Tuckenhay and Stoke Gabriel.

'By-the-Boat' Adventures

We have a fleet of 6 canoes with a capacity to get 60 adults out on the water at any one time.    We have three 8m canoes, and three of our magnificent 9m Longbow canoes, designed and built here in Totnes.

  • 8m canoes, take up to 6-8 adults or paddling teens, if including small children maximum capacity is 11 people - £195
  • 9m canoes, take up to 12 people - £220
  • To add a BBQ option - £10
  • Extra hours in addition to the standard 4.5 to 5 hour adventure - £15 per hour per boat.
  • Towage to ports other than Tuckenhay or Stoke Gabriel - price on asking.

'By-the-Seat' Adventures

'By-the-Seat' Adventures, which we run for individuals and small groups in case you aren't enough people to make a full crew on your own.  Prices vary.  Please see below for further details.

Coming for 2018. As a little extra incentive we'll be offering special "Regulars' Rates" to our most loyal shipmates - come on any three trips in one year and you'll be on 'regulars' rates' for any trip the year after.
