Our annual flagship event, the Totnes Longbow Canoe Festival (aka The Races) is a fantastic celebration of our magnificent Longbow canoes, designed and made here in Totnes, and it is usually the first day of the year that we get to mobilise our full fleet in one go.  Organised by our local Rotary club, 'The Races' have become a major community event in Totnes' annual calendar.  20 or so teams compete in a series of heats to attain the glory of Longbow Champions.  We run mini-Canoe Adventures from the slip at Longarsh, for which payment is by donation.  There is a fair and various other stalls on the shore, including lots of food and music.     The event raises £8000-15000 each year for local and international good causes.
